Judicial Philosophy (Max 250 words)My judicial philosophy centers on fairness, impartiality, and adherence to the rule of law. I believe in interpreting and applying the law faithfully and consistently, without bias or personal agenda. Additionally, I prioritize accessibility and transparency in the judicial process, ensuring that all individuals receive equal treatment under the law and have confidence in the integrity of our legal system.

Judges must faithfully apply the law. They should give every case time and respect, treating all appeals equally. And they should efficiently issue clear and understandable opinions.

A judge’s allegiance is to the law. Our government is founded upon the rule of law, and judges have the critical role of applying the law as it is written to resolve all disputes efficiently and fairly. Judges do not make law; legislators do. Similarly, parties--not judges--draft contracts. If judges do not apply the law as it is written, then we cease being governed by laws. Then there is no predictability, and Texans cannot know what the law is and cannot conform their conduct.

Judges must ensure that laws are applied in a manner that is faithful and easily comprehensible so that litigants, courts, and citizens can understand the law. Every case is worthy of respect and consideration. Each case may be the most important in the world to those litigants, and judges must afford each case appropriate time and diligence. This requires hard work. It is also critical that judges promptly issue opinions: justice delayed is so often justice denied.

The judge should study the law, analyze the record, and faithfully apply the law to the case.
