Governor Abbott Appoints Toth to Third Court Of Appeals
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Michael “Mike” Toth to the Third Court of Appeals for a term set to expire December 31, 2018, or until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
Michael “Mike” Toth of Austin is senior counsel at Dykema Cox Smith, LLC. Previously, he served as special counsel and senior counsel in the Texas Attorney General’s Office. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, New York State Bar, Federalist Society, and the Navy Marine Corps Business Network Austin Chapter. Additionally, he is a member of the Federalist Society Austin Chapter Steering Committee and the American Enterprise Institute Leadership Network. He served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, and continues to serve in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. After his active duty service, he served as a law clerk at the federal trial and appellate levels, for the Hon. Ursula Ungaro and the Hon. Edith H. Jones. Toth received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Stanford University with highest honors and a Master of Arts in history and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia.
